They started their lives in the Inner Hebrides on the Island of Mull. Here as calves they lived in isolation on hills before joining us at six months old from the farm. At this point the boys had barely any human contact so we had to gently introduce ourselves and gain their trust.
They live in the front paddock and join us each day for feeding and some optional grooming. They have been de-horned to stop them getting caught up in the fences which can be very painful for them.
Guests can join in the Highland Cow Experience to get up close with feeding and that all important photo opportunity. In Winter the Hay Bales are rolled in as additional feed. It is part of Highland and Estate life looking after the cows. It is also very rewarding when you see how much they enjoy a good scratch and interaction!
There is an optional cuddly Moo to go when you book the experience! Contact reservations for further information.
